Description
The Access Balanced Fund is a mutual fund that pools money from many investors and invests in a variety of securities including FGN bonds, state and corporate bonds, and corporate stocks. AIS as the fund manager will trade (buy and sell) these bonds and shares in accordance with the fund’s investment objective (see below) and will distribute the net realized investment gains from the sale of these securities to the fund’s investors annually.
Investment Objective
The primary investment objective of the Access Balanced Fund is to achieve long term returns that are relatively uncorrelated with the Nigerian equities market, through a combination of capital growth and income generation. Accordingly, the fund aims to achieve this long term capital appreciation of its assets by investing in a portfolio made up of:
· High quality quoted stocks of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)
· Fixed income instruments
· Money market instruments.
Investment Strategy
Target Investors
This fund is primarily designed for investors with a medium appetite for risk. The fund will also meet the needs of investors seeking capital preservation and income generation. The fund also welcomes participation from both local Nigerians and non-resident Nigerian investors. AIS, as the fund manager, will support non-resident investors to facilitate the remittance of the net proceeds arising from a foreign currency investment in the fund at the point of divestment.
